Aurora
Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. The name she is most commonly used for her professional work is Aurora and sometimes stylized with the letters in uppercase like AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, was released in May of 2015 by Decca Records to great approval of music bloggers and the media. Half the World Away, by the Oasis band for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole are just two of her best-known songs. Katy Perry posted a video that she supported Runaway. It earned her some attention. Make it a special day. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory was of discovering an attic piano and becoming enthralled by the sounds it would make. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged her to learn music, not as work or for a passion and as a way to develop. They encouraged her to compose. She has cited renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as influences as well as a love for Bjork's style. Her mom encouraged her to play her music publicly, not to gain fame but rather in order to show others the importance of their work and what they can do for humanity. The piano was her first instrument, at six. She began creating music after turning nine. The family did not be aware of this until she reached the age of 14. Aurora's success was never the goal of her. As she says, she just enjoys writing songs. For her, music is the best method to experience anything.
